The Rifle range provides target placements at 10, 25, 50, 100, 200, & 300 yards. The firing line is covered, with the center section enclosed for inclement weather shooting. The west side is set up with concrete bench rests. The center section is also set up with concrete bench rests and has a loading press installed for those who wish to assemble loads at the range.
The eastern section of the firing line is set up to address the 100, 50, 25, & 10 yard backstops and provides movable tables in an open front setting which suits most handgun and small bore shooting. Target positions are north of the shooting positions. The range is equipped with electricity and a safety lighting system.
The club will provide special target frames to utilize the target holders for a nominal cost. Alternatively, shooters can easily build their own target frames using these target frame directions.
There are Civilian Marksmanship Matches (CMP) on the second Saturday of each month. These nationally sanctioned military rifle matches include U.S. battle rifles such as the M1 Garand, 1903-A3 Springfield, M1 carbines, etc. There are 50 shots for score at 100 and 200 yards from prone, sitting, and standing positions; rapid and slow fire. “Clinics” are occasionally held to introduce new CMP shooters to the sport.
