In today’s world guns are constantly on the front page. Agencies within our government and some outside our government continually try to create and pass new legislation that erodes our Right to legally own and shoot our firearms. One of our greatest defenses in that battle is cultivating new legal gun owners and ensuring that those who own and use firearms do it in a safe and responsible manner.
To that end, the Board of Directors of the CVWC has expressed an interest in developing a firearms training program both for members of the club and for some folks who may not be members.
This is the first attempt to determine the level of interest in such a training program. I have listed several areas that the Club might explore in the area of training. Some of these areas will be fee based while other will be given free of charge.
Here are some training areas:
- NRA Firearms Instructor Course in Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and Home Firearms Safety
- NRA Range Safety Officer and Chief Range Safety Officer
- NRA Basic Firearms Training in Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, and Home Firearms Safety
- NRA Women On Target
- NC Concealed Carry Handgun
- Boy Scout, Girl Scout and 4H Firearm Training
- NC Hunter Safety Class
- NRA Hunter Clinics
- NRA Refuse To Be A Victim
